Results of ACTH samples from whole-body venous sampling.
The results obtained from a patient with the ectopic ACTH syndrome are shown. The peak ACTH (ng/l) levels that were found in the right adrenal vein were the result of an ACTH-secreting phaeochromocytoma which was later removed. Two independent samples were taken from this vein and both showed abnormally high levels of ACTH.
